Who is ACT For?
ACT is designed for individuals living with serious mental health diagnoses who experience high acuity and multiple additional life challenges, and who have not been helped by traditional community mental health services. ACT helps people who have been in and out of the hospital or jail, or have had periods of homelessness.
ACT Improves People’s Lives.
Over 50 years of research has shown that people who receive services from ACT programs experience fewer hospitalizations, longer periods of stable housing, and greater satisfaction with services and supports.
ACT has shown a 37% greater reduction in homelessness vs standard care management in randomized trials, and 26% greater improvement in symptoms (Coldwell & Bender, 2007).
